Fresh Chicken Legs

Chicken legs, comprising the drumstick and thigh, are delectable and budget-friendly cuts. They boast rich, dark meat that remains tender and juicy when cooked. Versatile and flavourful, chicken legs can be roasted, grilled, or fried with various marinades or seasonings. They are usually cooked with the bone in and can also be left with the skin on for that extra crunch.
Recipe: Crispy Roasted Chicken Legs
Time: 50 mins
- 4 whole chicken legs, bone in and skin on
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp onion powder
1. Take out the chicken legs from the refrigerator and let it reach room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
2. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
3. Dry the chicken legs well with paper towels and rub thoroughly with butter.
4. Mix the garlic powder, paprika, thyme, onion powder and some salt and pepper together. Rub into the chicken legs.
5. Place the chicken legs on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 40-45 minutes until golden.
6. Let them rest for 8-10 minutes before serving.
