Giada De Laurentiis

Giada De Laurentiis is an Italian American chef, author, and restauranteur with an Emmy award to her name. Trained at Le Cordon Blue in Paris, the renowned chef is known for a number of successful television shows on Food Network such as ‘Giada at Home’, ‘Giada in Paradise’ and ‘Giada Entertains’, to name a few. She is also a judge on ‘Food Network Star’ and ‘Winner Cake All’, with three successful restaurants, two in Las Vegas and one in Baltimore. Her career was inspired by her restaurateur and grocery store owner grandfather whom she would enjoy cooking with during her childhood in Italy. De Laurentiis wrote nine cookbooks which ended up featuring as New York Times best sellers, in addition to her children’s books series ‘Recipes for Adventure’. Her website also serves as a lifestyle and e-commerce platform on which she posts recipes, travel blogs, tips and more.  

Lemon Spaghetti

Giadzy’s Lemon Spaghetti

Time: 30 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup olive or lemon oil
  • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • 450g spaghetti
  • 1/3 cup chopped basil
  • 1 tbsp grated lemon zest

Method:

1. Whisk the oil, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and some salt and pepper in a large bowl and set aside.

2. Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the spaghetti and cook for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Drain the pasta and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.

4. Add the spaghetti to the lemon sauce and toss with the basil and lemon zest.

5. Add the pasta water, ¼ cup at a time, and toss to moisten the pasta.

6. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
