Marinated Chicken Breast

Cut from the pectoral muscle, the chicken breast cut of meat is an excellent source of protein and it is lower in fat than most cuts of red meat. It is so versatile; you can cook it in numerous ways in different cuisines. Be it roasted, grilled, fried, or boiled.

Marinated chicken breast is a culinary delight, infusing the meat with bold flavours and tenderness. To make a marinade, you will need three essential ingredients: an acid, such as vinegar, wine, or a citrus, a type of oil and a flavouring agent, such as herbs or spices. The acid breaks down the proteins for the meat to absorb more flavour, the oil keeps the meat tender while cooking and the flavouring agent is an extra infusion of flavour.

Side Dish Recipe: Creamy Cucumber Salad

Servings: 6


  • 2 cucumbers
  • ½ onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp dill, chopped
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • ½ tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Salt and black pepper


1. Combine the sour cream, lemon juice, garlic cloves, dill, and some salt and pepper in a bowl. Stir and set aside.

2. Thinly slice the cucumbers and place in a large bowl. Add the onion.

3. Just before serving, stir the sauce in with the cucumbers.
