Tangerines are small citrus fruits that belong to the mandarin orange family. With their vibrant orange colour, refreshing aroma, and sweet flavour, tangerines have gained popularity as a delightful and nutritious fruit. Tangerines are known for their easy-to-peel skin, making them a convenient and portable snack. They have a slightly flattened shape, distinctively bumpy rind, and are typically smaller compared to other oranges.

When it comes to taste, tangerines offer a delightful balance between sweetness and tanginess. They are generally sweeter than oranges, with a flavour profile that is often described as vibrant, zesty, and refreshing. In addition to their delicious taste, they are an excellent source of vitamin C, which plays a crucial role in supporting the immune system.

Tangerines are incredibly versatile in the kitchen. They can be enjoyed on their own as a healthy snack, added to fruit salads for a burst of flavor, or incorporated into various recipes. Their juice is often used in beverages, smoothies, or dressings, while the zest can add a bright citrusy note to baked goods, marinades, or savory dishes. Tangerines can also be transformed into marmalades, preserves, or jams.
