Beef Rib-eye

Barbecue rib-eye steak is a carnivore's dream, delivering an explosion of flavour and tenderness with each bite. The marbling of fat in the rib-eye adds richness, while grilling over open flames enhances the natural beefy taste. Whether seasoned with a simple blend of salt and pepper or marinated in a savoury sauce, the result is a juicy, mouth-watering delight. Pair it with grilled vegetables or a baked potato for a hearty and satisfying meal that never disappoints.

Ingredients:

  • 2 marbled beef rib-eye steaks
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 cans cola-flavoured carbonated beverage
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 8 slices bacon

Method: 

1. Score the steaks on both sides in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife and punch the fatty areas with the tip of the knife. Sprinkle a thin coating of garlic powder, salt, and pepper over both sides of the steaks and rub the seasoning into the scores.

2. Place the steaks in a shallow dish and pour the cola-flavoured beverage over them. Cover and marinade in the refrigerator for 4 hours, turning the steaks over every hour. For the last hour, coat the steaks with a thin layer of barbecue sauce.

3. Preheat your outdoor grill on high heat.

4. Lightly oil the grilling surface, place the steaks on the grill, still on high heat, and cook for about 4 minutes on each side.

5. Reduce the heat of the grill to medium-low and place the bacon strips on top of them. Cover and slow cook for 10 minutes on each side.

6. Spread a thin layer of barbecue sauce over the steaks during the last few minutes of cooking.
