Recipe: Classic Cheeseburger with a Twist

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 450g ground beef (80% lean)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favourite cheese)
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 8 slices of crispy bacon
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons of your favourite burger sauce (such as ketchup, mustard, mayo, or a combination)

Method:

1. Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.

2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season both sides of the patties generously with salt and pepper.

3. Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

4. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheese on top of each patty and let it melt.

5. While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or skillet until they are lightly golden brown.

6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and two slices of crispy bacon on the bottom half of each bun.

7. Place the cooked cheeseburger patty on top of the bacon, then add a few slices of onion and a tablespoon of burger sauce.

8. Finally, place the top half of the bun on top and serve immediately.
