Our furry friends have so much love to give, they deserve a nutritious homemade treat for dinner every once in a while. Apart from the fact that dogs love meatballs (who doesn’t?), the parsley used in this recipe keeps the dogs’ breath fresh and the eggs keep their coat looking shiny. Since almond flour is used, it is also a gluten-free and grain-free option for our sensitive canine companions.

Beef is an essential protein for your dog to build muscle. The fat in beef allows your dog to feel full after a meal and its vitamins and minerals contribute to a dog’s healthy skin.

Homemade Meatballs

Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

• 500g ground beef
• 1 egg, beaten
• 60g low-fat yogurt
• ½ cup almond flour
• 1 tbsp chopped parsley, dried or fresh

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix the ground beef in a large mixing bowl.

3. Add the egg, yogurt, flour, and parsley and mix well.

4. Form the mixture into meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.

5. Bake for 25-30 minutes and let them cool before serving them to your dog/s.
