Chocolate Rum Balls

Chocolate Rum Balls

Time: 15 minutes + 2 hours chilling

Yield: 24 balls

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs (or crushed chocolate cookies)
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  • 3 tablespoons honey or corn syrup
  • Shredded coconut for coating

Method:

1. In a large bowl, combine chocolate wafer crumbs, chopped nuts, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder.

2. Add dark rum and honey (or corn syrup) to the dry mixture. Mix until well combined. The mixture should be moist enough to hold together. If needed, add more honey or rum.

3. Shape the mixture into small balls, usually around 1 inch in diameter.

4. Roll each ball in shredded coconut for coating.

5. Place the coated rum balls on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.

6. Once chilled and firm, transfer the chocolate rum balls to an airtight container.
